They look interesting (just Googled them). I'd be enquiring about the servicing and spares situation. The drivers are pretty specialised.

They’re hardly used Geoff but good point. I bought them off the Jaguar Land Rover treasurer, his missus decided these were too big and now he’s reduced to a sound bar (by the same company).

And when I finally decide whether I prefer valves or solid state one set of monoblocks will go (maybe.. )

That's a question I've never been able to answer.

The boys, Ardens connected to valve amps, Tritons to the QMPs

Have been browsing the Stereophile review of the Triton 2 - interesting, much more my sort of speaker than the Tannoys.
Looks like a hell of a lot of speaker - especially for the money!
Shame you are so far from me, Roy, I'd like to ask for an invite to come listen.

You'd always be very welcome Jerry if you're ever over this way.

The Tritons are very different to the Tannoys, their response seems faster which works better with certain kinds of music & they certainly seem to prefer solid state amps to valves. I'm keeping both sets of monoblocks / speakers for now; my pre has two lots of balanced outs so I can keep everything plumbed in
