    Cheers Nathan, I'd completely forgotten about that.

    Darren, yes, I'm using one myself currently while the Pre 2 is having some TLC. It's very good, particularly in view of the low cost. The other good thing is it acts as a buffer also, so avoids the usual impedance matching issues of a passive pre.

    I'd like to do a complete check on the costing of such a project before I kick off, building a couple of gainclone monoblocks was way more expensive than I initially thought it would be.
    DIY is fine and dandy, but just try selling it on!
