Marco - master of the Baroque.

    ___

I'm not a great fan of most of Benjamin Britten's mature works, but those he composed as a young chap are often brilliant!
This album of his oboe-related works from his youth is pretty damn marvellous imo. Tuneful but incisive and exciting, as well as beautifully soulful when appropriate.

Never heard that before, Jerry. I like it!

Not sure if you're familiar with the work of this Polish composer, but this sweeping orchestral piece is quite soothing for early morning listening, although also rather majestic in parts, and playing now at Marco towers:

Nope, I know his violin concerto (very good) but haven't come across that album. I'll put it on my playlist.

    More Preisner atm, gorgeous.

Something darker and rather more brooding now, and also hugely atmospheric (with shades of Shosty in parts)....
