A very pleasant programme of orchestral music by JC Bach (one of JS Bach's sons) - some lovely oboe concertos.

Wow - I love this. I came across it doing a Spotify search on recordings by the RPO.
A superbly recorded Brahms symphony cycle from 2010 - I'd never heard of it.
Traditional 'Old fashioned approach' - in these days of authentic performance I guess it could be classified as naughty but nice. --it makes me think of Jochum's excellent EMI cycle in up to date sound.
I started with the 2nd symphony and just fell head over heels in love with it. Then the 3rd, now listening to the 4th.
The performances tend to go for architectural grandeur rather than febrile excitement.
