A little bit weird, but a very interesting and enjoyable listen.

G.F. Händel: Rodelinda - Alan Curtis, Simone Kermes (2004)
I really like this as it takes you to the venue, even though i'm not a full blooded opera fan.

Golden Age recording quality from Decca of the Brahms symphony cycle, and the performances by Solti are excellent. A great set.
Listened to 1-3 on the trot yesterday.
    Probably the 4th today.

    Nielsen - 'Symphony No 4, Op. 29' and Shostakovich - 'Symphony No.9, Op. 70'

The Hallé cond. Sir Mark Elder, recorded at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Attached to this month's BBC Music Magazine.

Bought for the Nielsen, but prefer the Shostakovich.

    Wow, gosh, gadzooks.
I'd call this a fairly major discovery for me.
    Baldassare Gallupi.
    Baroque geezer.

I first came across some excellent keyboard music, and then this choral album.
    Really very fine indeed!

John Tavener - The Protecting Veil

Bella Union vinyl issue. Seems slightly quicker than I've heard before. A lovely record though and a thing of beauty.
