    Ronald,

Since building the Phonoclone 3 I have redesigned it after trying the Peter Daniels offering but not with his power supply. I use different op amps, different RIAA stage and different dc blocking cap setup. In fact there are only two parts the same in the whole thing.

To my old ears it's more detailed, smoother, with more space between the instruments and a wider, deeper soundstage and tighter bass, but then again I might me biased.

Using them on batteries is far superior to using a PSU IMO. YMMV

I call it the HTMCPS (HypnoToad Moving Coil Phono Stage)

Well it took eighteen months for me to actually get around to starting but I eventually got around to building one.
I'm very glad that I did, it sounds wonderful with my Benz Glider SL.

I even put it into a nice box.

Have you looked at the date of the last post before yours? You might find some continuity over on the Diyaudio forum.

No worries. Glad you're enjoying it This does seem an interesting phono stage but as a confirmed valve man I really shouldn't. However I always try to be open minded so some investigation is required.

it's something I'm looking into doing so it's been a good read. I'll obviously look around as much as possible but it's got a very good reputation on here so I've put it on the maybe list
