    Default LoveFilm recommendations

    Hey,

So I just took advantage of a free 30-day LoveFilm trial subscription (I even get a £15 Amazon gift card at the end!) and I'm looking for suggestions for recent films that I should add to the list. I haven't been to the cinema in ages so there're a lot of films I've not seen. Here's my list so far:

    Burke and Hare
    Inception
    Resident Evil - Afterlife
The Chronicles of Narnia - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
    The Wire - Season 5
    Avatar
    Black Swan
Evil Dead 2 - Dead by Dawn
    Megamind
    Neds
The Evil Dead 3 - Army of Darkness
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest
The Girl who Played with Fire
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
    The King's Speech
    True Grit (2010)

I should probably add another half-a-dozen to make sure I'm not left hanging. That list is pretty representative of the kind of stuff I'm after.

    Any ideas, then?

PS: should you fancy taking up this offer yourself, here's the link. Offer includes free unlimited online streaming.
    Simon.

If you are after recent (ish) films, here's 10 for you.

Danny Boyles 127 Hours is worth a look.
    The Social Network
    Restrepo
Winters Bone (might not suit, but an excellent film nonetheless)
    Moon
Crazy Heart (good for music fans)
    The Hangover
    The Hurt Locker
    Inglorious Basterds
    Monsters

    Thanks Tim,

I've added Social Network, Hurt Locker and Hangover to the list. That should be enough to last out the trial period.

    Cheers

If you like that, you really should check out Restrepo - filmed by Tim Hetherington, who sadly was one of the journalist's killed this year in Libya.

It's a documentary filmed in Afghanistan with a unit of US troops over the period of a year, in one of the toughest areas. Raw, but riveting and highly recommended.
