Lots of great suggestions folks
Another idea from The Grand Wazzo
Instead of using the v oting mechanism different members can take turns to nominate an album, one week it can be classic the next an album to recommend but also offer up for critical feedback.
If we do go this way then it be easy to cover for specialist taste quite easy
I suggest as it Grifo104 (Simon) idea he goes first and then creat a list from those who has expressed an interest in this
So the list could look something like this
Grifo104
John
Welder
Keiths
Alan Sircom
WAD62
Vinyleyes
MartinT
Andre
Audioman
Ursus262

Just reading this and what a great idea and likely to cost me more money like you say John
Just saw Stackridge mentioned, that alone makes it a great idea - a band I had forgotten about . . . nice one fellas. Will have some recommends later.

I'm coming to this late on, because it's moved fast over the day, but count me in.
If anyone needs some advice about how to get onto Spotify, I think there's a thread somewhere. Alex will be able to point it out, I'm sure.
It's easy and it can be free if you don't want to go the full way & pay for it.
Bugger, I have just burnt my dinner to a crisp reading this thread . . . .

You'll have to stick to stuff that's available on Spotify.
The difficulty with classical is that there are so many different versions that we will need to make sure everyone listens to the same one, or else the follow-up discussion about the album is going to be pretty meaningless.
Imagine if the album was Elgar's 'Cello Concerto and some listened to the du Pré version, some to the Tortelier version and some to Casals etc
