I had Duncan's copper pre that looked very much the same. I polished it up on occasion with Brasso wadding.(excellent amp bye way and would be nice I think with these mono's)

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I thought I'd check - if it had been called Coppero I would have been more confident.

And you are not wrong - Brasso and some elbow grease and it's coming up right bootiful.

take the allen key bolts out the side and go gently with brasso.

The side cheeks i just waxed -but you could use a darker stain to highlight the grain.

lovely wee amps-Duncan did a great job with them.

OK - undo 4 black allen bolts each side (2 top, 2 bottom) and the wood cheeks pop off?

Naw.....just remove the bolts to polish the copper-do one side at a time.

Mind and dont leave any finger prints.

An old t shirt serves as a fine polishing cloth!

Didn't realise he was making amps now. Is he still 'Living On A Prayer'?

I've no idea if he's still around.
Mine is a refurbed amp from around 1980, I think.

Ah no, he went to join the morning stars 5 years ago

Interesting read about James Bongiorno, actually - http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=113225.0

Sounds like he was a really flamboyant character!
