I've had a weekend loan of an Aleph 3 (from Walrus in London) rather more years ago than I care to admit!
Not my cuppa - too laid back for me.

Nice Jerry, how does it sound?
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Once it warmed up - it took about 30 minutes of sounding a bit thin and stark - it sounds excellent. Very powerful and controlled, tonally neutral, loads of detail, excellent focus.
    Really enjoying it so far.

    Hi Jez
Yep, the buffer turned up as per 1st class spec.
But the Pass-encumbered courier arrived 45 minutes earlier. So guess what is being tried first!

I'll have to settle in with the amp for a couple of days and then I'll try the buffer.

Some good reviews on AudioReview. One chap compares it to an A21 which he claims is warmer. He prefers the X150 in his system.

But then I expect you've read that anyway (wink).

300W into 4 Ohms. Not bad.

BTW if you did send me something there's no sign yet.

    Yep, seen the reviews.
It is quite like a Para A21, but not cuddly. (It's the somewhat warm and cuddly aspect that tired me of the A21 in the end). Same kind of dynamic sweep - loadsa power. More rez (sorry Macca ). Lusher mids, as well. Awesome bass with the music tried so far (only classical)
Enjoying it a lot so far.
Does take 30 mins to come on song, though. -- And I'm not usually a warm-up kinda guy, but it's pretty bloody obvious with Horatio.

    I replied to your PM.

The amp does get very warm, but not hot - it's still comfortable to the touch.
I suspect it operates a fair way in pure class A.
I've seen 50wpc in class A mentioned, but I don't think it gets anywhere near hot enough for that.
It gets a lot warmer than the A21, and I think that was about the first 7 watts in class A.

It is a pure (single ended) Class A amp, all 30W. That the whole case is a heatsink will help here, love the design.
