    Hmm.
I have to very humbly disagree.
For me the 1700 series is classic B&O.

B&O is a brand I hate working on I must say... very frail in build, loads of plastic clips etc that snap when trying to remove them, awkward switching arrangements with extenders or pull cords on them, output transistors usually only just up to the task etc. The electronic design is fine and they sound good but certainly not well made...

^^ Yes, the number of malfunctioning B&O bits on eBay is quite astonishing. Not designed for the long haul.

I see them like the Apple of audio. They used styling, and just enough new features to keep you excited about grabbing the next model. They sound good, but were not designed for long time serviceability. Their style held up.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

There aren't many of them left in the states, and finding parts for them is a nightmare. It isn't really that finding parts is hard, but they cost more than the unit is worth most of the time. There are plenty of units for parts or repair on eBay, but the same parts are usually broken or missing.

I think they are some of the coolest looking gear ever made, but if you buy one here you have to check everything.

Agreed. I realised my mistake: I should have said the 5000 series and not 3000.
