Sounding like 6 moons here but I suppose more musical and less obviously hi fi but without loss of detail etc. It's driving about 4 meter interconnects here BTW.

Now on Diana Krall "Live at Paris".... I could need a bigger power amp! Using 20WPC class A amp at the minute with Spendor speakers and much less efficient than the KEF's. The lack of "edge" and "strain" encourage volume without a doubt.

I'm using the buffer straight after my passive pre with 2' interconnect between them and then buffer driving 4M of cable to power amp, in effect it turns the passive pre into a very good active pre, still without gain of course. I hope Jerry likes it as well and I'm not imagining all this!

Betwixt pre and power amps was the idea.
I'll give it a go between DAC and pre as well, see which I prefer.
I've been toying with the idea recently of getting a passive pre again , could be a good match!

Yes. I have to admit, I'm interested too.

Found mine best between cd and amp or pre/amp. Tried it with dac and didnt like it. Didnt like it with vinyl so much either, so it stuck on cd/amp. Going back to dac pre soon so probably wont use it now. A ss one might work better in this situation. In fact i would expect it to, especially if well made.
