“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Looks like the engineer's flight deck on Concorde.

That power amp is giving the best bass I've had in my system for quite a few years - probably back to the Krell KAV-250a. Very impressive indeed.

Indeed. You'd really want two of the tape decks, and they should be on the bottom, power amp on top. Not sure if that is an eq 3rd down, there is certainly a box unaccounted for.

    True.
The Carrot was an unfortunate victim of circumstance.
It really is a very fine amp and deserved a longer stay, but when the Black Turnip power amp came available I just couldn't resist trying it paired with the Black Turnip pre-amp I've had for a while and greatly enjoyed - the power amps don't come along very often at all, especially in Minty condition.
That's the way it goes with box-swapping sometimes.

Very true. I've had the Quad Elites in the main system for an unusually long period of time now & am itching to try something else but know I'd struggle to better them.
