    Default A1000

Well, you asked...so here's a photo. I only use CD's and the player is an ARCAM CD73. The speakers are Paradigm Monitor 7's, bi-wired to the A1000 with QED Silver flat cable. I keep contemplating having the CD73 upgraded which ARCAM will do for around £500, but I'm not convinced it's worth it. At the moment I'm content and polish the A1000 on a frequent basis.

Hi Jeremy, yep, that's the one i remember Please do try & take a bigger/better pic & host on something like Photobucket as it's free

The Arcam CD73 is no slouch, nice bit of kit indeed.

The upgrade i think takes you to the realms of the 9 series which has the dCS Ring DAC, try talking to synsei as he knows more about this than i do

OK. Check it out above - that's the best I can do I think. My wife keeps asking me if I'm selling it because I'm taking pictures of it! To which my response was to turn the lens on her ....

As i say, that is the kit i remember, very nice to & i certainly wouldn't mind listening to that again

I'd like to compliment your polishing.

How does it sound compared to the A1?

Oh gosh...non technical effort coming up:

It's more powerful than the A1 so drives my speakers more efficiently. Consequently I get a rich, detailed, smooth / warm (Class A) sound at a relatively low volume. It packs a punch!
