Erik,
Can I ask how long it took you to complete the construction and modification of the DAC and power supply?
You posts make it seem very matter of fact but the quality of the woodworking an metalwork would indicate that there's some serious time gone into this.

You just beat me to the draw there Erik...
Under normal circumstances most people would say 'don't give up the day job'. Looking at this porn, I would say different......
If only it was that simple
Main System :
Quad II/40 amps, Music First passive pre, Tannoy Stirling SE speakers, Technics 1200 + RB301, V-LPS, digital streaming from Mac mini via Lifatec Toslink to Moon 300D. Meier Corda Arietta headphone amp, Sennheiser HD650 Phones. Mark Grant i/c cables. Speaker cables, Audioquest Rocket 44 BiWire.
Ray.
This truly is laudable work. A credit to you.
Erik, have you considered building a turntable? I'd be eager to see the results.
Regards.
Johnny Dodgem.

Nope I go digital,.... modding the cdplayer all the way up eversince 1985 or so......only just now it starts to equal analog (for me)....
Soon I will post building pics of my toploading transport, inspired on turntable-design and as tweakable as a turntable with pretty simular effects.....
While building this you will be cured on the spot if you are still believing zeros and ones there is nothing more to it.....
BTW
For those who want to read (in english) the (technical story) about the 50 dollar transport with my pics check the Shigaclone site of Peter Daniel and watch my project...uhh... getting out of hand.

Taking a boombox apart....
Mounting it with the digital function only......
Seperating the motorboard from the laserboard and changing caps and getting dedicated power supplies....(and a lot of help from my audio-buddy Anton)
My wife very patient with us building "in the room"....
Time to give it a proper clock instead of the standard ceramique resonator. I gave it a Trichord 4 with a homebuilt dedicated powersupply and AWSR super reg.
My friend Anton figuring out from a anything but flawless lay-out (bad manual !!!!) where to supply all the dedicated chip voltages....
