    PF have been my favourite band since '73.

    It's very sad. I always felt that Rick was the person who made great Floyd great. His imprint was there on all their best tracks: Echoes, Us & Them, Shine On, and his persona was that of the classically reserved British gentleman. I never met him, but of all the Floyd he's the one I would have liked to have spent time with.

    I was lucky enough to see him, Dave and Nick perform at the Syd Barrett Barbican tribute last year. I had no idea that it would be his last performance on stage with the other two-quarters of Floyd.

    I hope that his influence on the Floyd is re-evaluated now; he was always overshadowed by the other 3 egos in the band.
