Hi, sorry I dont know anyone personally.
I've heard of Audio Origami, so might be an idea to see how much they would charge, you could just post the arm to them.
And yes, it is diy do-able, but...
Get a Rega Dac, you can get them on Ebay for £250 ish.
I love my one, with a Rega amp and Rega speakers its a great system.
Just use an optical cable from your Mac (assuming its got the Spdif...
personally I'd probably put the tone arm damper further down the list.
might be better to use some of that cash to pay an expert to do the re wiring job.
And btw, you dont have to use KAB's...
These are fantastic speakers, I heard them in Audio T couple of weeks ago.
...when I worked at LFD Audio I remember my boss Dr Bews saying that he didnt really agree with higher bit rates because the full potential of CD was rarely realised, ie, 16 bit 44.1 is plenty good...
I agree, I've got the same tone arm wiring kit from Kab.
Did make a big difference.
The tone arm damper improves the bass a bit but don't expect a massive change.
Better to put the money...
I'm with you on the tone arm and platter, I think its nice to keep a 1210 looking stock, it's a real icon after all.
I don't mind the feet, I think they look OK tbh.
But anyway, the feet don't...
I thought it was better for the voltage regulator to be near the motor ? That's why they do 2 part power supplies.
And yes, its a fairly easy mod just to relocate the power supply, but tbh I found...
I think the first upgrade is to buy a record cleaning machine and some Art D'son fluid.
No point in doing any upgrades and then playing uncleaned records...
Then Cartridge, even a 30 quid...
Thats a great deal.
I've got one of these amps, upgraded from a Brio - R, I love it.
It's a lot better than the Brio - R , you'll notice that straightaway.
I'm actually thinking of selling my modded SL1210 MK2
As I've been saying in another thread, I use my Rega Dac and laptop so much these days that I hardly ever play records.
It's got most of...
I love my Rega Dac, its one of the best hifi products I've ever bought.
Its changed my life :), I get most of my music now from Qobuz, its all too easy..
The thing is though, everyone says that the Rega Dac doesnt sound as good via USB, but I've never tried it to be honest.
I think its a great way to listen to music by the way, I have my laptop next to me on the settee, connected to the hifi via a 10m optical cable.
Just so easy, in fact thats the problem, it makes...
cheers guys, I'm not sure if its Asio or Wasapi, i'll check that out,
I just select spdif out on the laptop and it works.
And Struth, yes I know, I'm lucky, by coinidence I've used Dell XPS...
Just a quick question,
When using the optical out from a laptop to a Dac, is there any advantage to using a Mac Book Pro rather than a Windows laptop ?
I currently use a Dell XPS L501X and I...

Hey guys,
I'm selling my lovely Rega RS1's.

Good amp this !
I built these back in the 90's when I worked at LFD.
I'm sure, although not 100% that the Mistral LE has the same...
the older Integrated LE's could have phono stages fitted, no problem.
just buy one :)
I'm sure in the unlikely event you didn't like it, you could easily sell it on..
Ive noticed a massive change now its run in a bit, bass is much more controlled, definitely a more lively presentation, more enjoyable to listen to to.
I would never never have believed that a...
that's interesting, I always thought the RS7 would be best because of its transmission line design.
I havnt even looked at the new RX series, I'll do that now. cheers
Thanks for all the replies chaps :)
I think I'm going to wait for a pair of Gloss Black RS7's to come along and go for it.
Although saying all this, bit of a strange thing has...
Forget I said "clinical", Im not the best at describing sound :)
Its sounding good, Im pleased with the improvement.
And its a much better design than the original.
I think Ian is going to...
