The original Technics SL1200 (which by default became the Mk1 when the Mk2 was introduced) does not use a quartz-locked control system, so an afternarket clock is meaningless in the context of a Mk1
It is not based on the DCB1 in any way. It is a new design produced by myself using modern high-performance components.
Hello Andrew,
Your in box is full.
Hello Adam,
Think I've probably got something in the spares box. Let me check and get back to you.

PM on its way.
Just to be clear, Jelco has nothing at all to do with the AT-1010. It was Audio Technica's top domestic arm in the early 1980s, designed and built for them by Audiocraft. The Mk6 designation refers...
Hello Shane, I'll have this one if it's still available.
PM me with your PayPal details and I'll let you know my address.
Still haven't seen anything that offers me a 1 micron tolerance plastic ball of any kind - best they can do is 5 microns
Just need to make a slight correction here, Delrin balls are graded in thousandths of an inch, so a grade 1 ball is round to within 1 thou, which is approximately 25 microns. Ceramic balls, certainly...

If the scales start to read negative as the cartridge approaches (but not touching) them, then the scales are reacting to the strength of the magnets in the cartridge.
On the contrary, I said unless you have a front end capable of retrieving all information you will not detect the differences due to cables. But if you do, you will.
Thank you for the write up Steve, I'm glad to hear that the system is delivering for you.
@mac72

I have to say I am in the camp of those who enjoy their ST-80se. I have used it with Ortofon Kontrapunkt B (standard and modded) and my Ortofon Vienna. It replaced my own built SUT using Hashimoto...
There are currently two tip profiles available from Fritz Gyger - the FGII which is very similar to the Ortofon FG80, and the FGS, equivalent to the Ortofon Replicant 100
A PMAT-1010 Mk6 costs £1295 with the recommended MS-9 headshell (£1250 with no headshell). One could be available in about 8 weeks - so probably into the New Year.
With currently committed units...
Having seen one in the flesh my best guess is that it is a damper for vibration being transmitted up the spindle.
The AT MC cartridges always seem to work well even in arms that theory says are a mismatch. I believe that AT have an amount of cantilever damping in their cartridges that broadens their working...

Where's the blush emoji when you need it!
As advised by Kilian last week. Kontrapunkt and Vienna tension wires no longer available as spares.
