In the 'up' position, the power is still being drawn from the computer's USB port rather than the 5v socket - so no point in trying external power unless you put the switch in the 'down' position.

Same here trying to power from the 5v socket using the 5v USB auxiliary port on my Ankaka lipo battery. Stan's not sure what the problem is.

The Ankaka will power the ASYNCH-1 via a USB power...
