I don't exactly know what got me started; I'm half sorry it did. Sometimes I'd like to be like "regular" people, who are happy with inexpensive mass market stuff. On the other hand, I would have...

Oddly enough, I find this very relaxing...
Works best with a back to back play of 'Down By The Jetty' :)
Forgot how much I like this band...a teenage favorite, I've just rediscovered them:

I had to do a little googling on this; I had no idea that King Curtis was at least partially responsible for Freddie King's "My Feeling For The Blues" (IMO one of his best blues/rock outings.) ...

This album has my favorite "Key To The Highway" and a great tune called "Goin' Down".

Nice collection of...well, soul from the southern U.S.
Well, at least I know it's "broken in" by now. :)
A lot of times the Epiphones are derided as "just copies", but they've made some seriously nice guitars.
Don't know if this counts, because I've actually had it for a month (Nov 25th, my birthday): Metrum Musette DAC. However, it was also my Christmas present, my Chanukah present, and my anniversary...
Not a great film, but a really fine soundtrack; a nice selection of Brazilian.

Your post made my day. :)
All right, that's the genre! "Funny Smelling Jazz". Thanks!
I do believe you've created a new genre in my collection! Thanks!
I'm already using that for my 'music by zombies' genre.
The more I think about it, the more that makes sense, given the Zappa was influenced (even in his rock stuff) but 20th century composers.
Funny...Hot Rats was when I really started to appreciate him. "Peaches En Regalia", in fact.
But then, I've always had a soft spot for soulless intellectual jazz-rock. ;)
I've been lately assigning genres to my digitized music collection, largely because I use a software player that uses genres with its random play feature.
I have a large number of Frank Zappa...
"Heart of the Congos" is an audiophile must-have? Guess I'm more of an audiophile than I thought.
Honestly, I think most things make my system sound pretty good. But brilliant? Maybe this one:

Mirador by Sungrazer - a Dutch psych band, now sadly defunct.

Well, I'd like to think I've learned a bit after about 20 years. The most important thing I've learned is that systems/components that sound "exciting" often wear on you (well, maybe not you, but me)...
Mmmmm, albums as opposed to single tracks? I'll almost always buy albums. The only time I buy single tracks is when it's the only way to get a track by an artist that I really like.
My viewpoint...
This sounds like a good deal for you. You do know that you benefit from the duvet cover set, right? :)
I think Rega might be one of the better choices. I've alway felt that Rega has a house sound that is easy to live with in the long run.
Sorry, don't know much about Marantz.
