Thanks. All sorted now (No thanks to Audiophonics). I managed to dig out an old jumper from the back of an old CD Rom drive i had and connected it across the pins: 5v and external 5v as illustrated...
I've successfully been using an rpi2 with an Audiophonics v.2.1 dac for a while now no problem.
Just got a linear psu from eBay to power the dac and pi, but it doesn't seem to be powering up with...
I use the HD600 or the DT1990 with the Crack (speedballed). They make a nice noise.
No hum with my Bottlehead Crack.
Any problems using this on 240v? Looks like it's only rated for 220v looking at the transformer.
I'm also put off now with Moode needing these extra steps to install. I'm on an older version at the moment and am thinking about an upgrade to newer software.
Haven't tried Volumio yet but am...
Thanks for the info. Just wondered why two Phono amps would be different unless the 540p is faulty.
Can anybody tell me why I get a hum when I ground my turntable directly to the Cambridge audio 540p Phono preamp?
If I use my Rega fono, it's fine, but when the 540p is in use I have to ground...
Not yet, I've left it on the backburner for now.
Judging by what I've read on other forums, Yes! Unlimited means just that.
Tell me about it! The initial upload would probably take weeks to do, however if you ran the service on a NAS that was on 24/7 you wouldn't really notice it...
I run a HTPC as my server with two copies of my music on external hdds. I see a lot of people like to use cloud services such as Crashplan or Carbonite for backing up a library.
Are these two...
Don't fancy running with a battery, prefer to keep it powered up with a psu
Can anybody tell me if this psu is a good one? I am normally wary of anything from China...
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271922367224
Quite lucky with the Audiophonics dac, it's got a 5v input I can use instead of the micro usb on the pi.
Very nice, more than I would like to pay though.
I've just put together a Raspberry pi streamer coupled to an Audiophonics v2 DAC. What's the consensus on power supplies?
At the moment I'm using the standard Pi supply, but not sure whether to...
Good idea. Thanks for that.

I'm looking into buying the v3 dac, case and their dedicated 6v psu for the pi I already own. Can you tell me if buying any of these items come with screws, cable etc or do they have to be...
I redid the permissions thing last night on the parent folder to make sure, but still no joy. All files reside on my HTPC which is running LinuxMint 17.3.
I will have another look at it later on...
Sorry to hijack the thread, but could do with a bit of help, I have Moode running nicely on my Raspberry Pi. The problem I have is that not all my music is being seen by Moode.
All my music is...
Eh, no it does not. I used the sound supports armboard.
Don't think the rega arm is the best choice on this TT. I used to have a td160 and fitted an rb250 to it with the metal plate. Trouble is, the arm sits way too high.
I still listen to a Sony MDS-JA20ES MD player, both with minidiscs and used as a DAC for the SB Touch. I really can't seem to let go of this now obsolete technology as it's just so cool! I also use...
Been using abcde for quite a while. Gets the job done well. Tried asunder but found a bug with it in that it created the folders in Linux but when I went to copy them across to my Win7 machine,...
