If...

Some of the Chinese amp manufacturers will supply amps with 235/240v UK spec mains transformers from new. There is usually a 14 day turn around time for this.
I know Ming Da and I think Yaquin do...
Hi Paul thanks for the info.
In case you haven't sorted it, you can obtain a 500VA 240v to 220v auto transformer from Farnell or RS for around £50.

Well, there seem to be a lot of interesting and diverce opinions on the subject.
Having been a former electronics service engineer and being involved with Hi Fi for over 30 years I hope I've managed...
Firstly you need to be satisfied that you have suficient electrical knowlege to do any work or tests safely. If in any doubt take your deck along to a proper sevice engineer for testing.

Hi,
if this is a new phenomenon with your deck I would make sure that nothing has happened to the earth continuity.
This would obviosly be a big safety issue if for example there are two issues...
The issue with cables and RFI I understand and am aware of, as cables can act as aerials and transmit what ever RFI stray signals are around into the system.
When you think of it one of the best...
Thanks for that Steve, that's very interesting.
As my system is shelf mounted a lot of cabling is touching the wall.
Looks like I have some experimenting to do.
I have to say some of the problems...

Whilst there can be little doubt that room accoustics have a considerable effect on sound quality I don't really see how this would cause inconsistant performance providing nothing in the room has...
I have to say I have the same problem too and it drives me crazy...
I'm prety sure it's mains born or RF born.
I do have a dedicated spur to the fuse box, which helps but is not a total cure.

I think I remember these.
They're a three way design with a sort of dopped 12" paper bass driver and a rather well made paper (blue I think ) mid driver and cone tweeter.
I think the latter...
For me I think the subject is two fold.
Firstly it has to be about becoming closer to the music and the more a system can potray the emotional aspects of that music the better.
Otherwise we may...
Hi,
love your Eastern Electric M520.
Looks like an old Radford STA 15.
Cheers
Andy.
Hi,Nick,
many thanks for sorting my pics.
I,ve had a bit of a tussle with photo bucket.
