Why buy a stylus when you can pick up a brand new 440mlb for under 190 quid if you shop around. That's peanuts tbh.

That's fine JH.
I'm near Accrington, ten minutes off J7 M65 if I can help JH.
I'm very happy with the one I bought through the classifieds here recently but at 249 quid brand new from RS that's a bit of a no brainer.
Rewiring a 3009 or 3012 is pretty straightforward for anyone with good soldering skills and some mechanical ability. I've done several using good quality copper wire but have done both of mine with...
But your system has never sounded as good as it does now with the active line stage!
I have a pair of SMGa's packed away up in the loft room. They're still in their original box after all these years. They were pretty good on the end of a Beard P101 but bass was a touch lacking iirc....
Having had both AT33 and Benz Ace twice over I kept the Benz, by far the nicer of the two in my system. I also happen to have an Eroica, bought from a member here to keep as a spare and I was quite...
Good quality mild steel will do the job nicely.
Laurel for me but why should I give a shit anyway :mental:
Why bother with all that junk and glueing a lump of ally on the top plate etc? A longish bolt through the rod grommet with a penny washer either side of the slot and a locknut underneath the slot...
Pete Millett designs and builds some exceptional stuff. He's a top notch engineer.
It'll be good to see you again too matey. I'm looking forward to it and I shall bring some liquid refreshment
Si, I'm hoping to be off this job for the middle of next week and then I'm coming over to Dougie's for a few days. I'll bring the tester with me.
I would post some pics of my two box 834 clone but I just haven't had the time to mess about taking pics, downloading them to my desktop and hosting them etc. I still can't work out how to put them...
Thats a good point and I'll admit that when I saw the name Lim I just made an assumption. However, looking at your amplifier it looks pretty much like most Chinese made EL34 amps. I'll still have a...
I used to have one of Lim's original AVC EL34 amps and the output sections looks pretty much like the OP's Diva. Bias was stated as 39mA but I used to set mine at 36mA. If I can find my original...
Best wishes to all.
I'd like the Fozgometer please Tom. PM sent.
Yes I'd be interested too. I have three of the original pagoda Systemdek turntables and one has a custom wood plinth. I really do need to do something with them as they've been stored away for the...
I've built a few of these and yes the stock parts are pretty dire. Far better to buy bare boards and fit good quality parts.
I say pear shaped, it looks similar to the 3012 armboard you often see on the 124. My 125 is in one of those big SME plinths.
Aye I'm aware of that but I'd still like to have one.
The guy that does the conversions and rebuilds goes under the name of audio nirvana.
That's the rare long base version you have there and deserves to be rescued. I'm quite envious as my own TD125/3012 is just the standard 125 with pear shaped arm board to allow fitting of the longer...
I managed to finish the bearing for my L70 today. It's taken me several weeks to get this done, the biggest problem I had was reaming out the oilite bushings to the correct size. In the end I...
