I would recommend (as I have one) a RigB modded AT540ML. Superb performance and unlike someone else's experience I find it a very quiet cart. It really is great VFM and runs my AT33PTG MC...
I think this used to be mine a long while back. Cracking TT for the money and nips at the heels of a 1210. I'd love to fettle one and see what could be achieved.
I'd be interested in this one too - I fancy a Willsenton and they look very nicely made (all point-to-point with decent components) so I'm far less concerned about reliability issues - they also do a...
A friend has an EB101. Good little TT, not quite on a par with the AR Legend but nearly. As someone said it will be sensitive to footfall if you're on a suspended floor. I'd expect them to be around...
I agree that cart matching can be a bit of a nightmare. But I disagree about your MC statement. Something like an AAT33PTG III would match your TT very well, tracks like a demon (very little...
IME with Technics decks, Mats are a personal preference. I tried various on mine - from cork to leather to a Ringmat - and found either an Achromat or Herbies was best for my ears. YMMV as they say....
Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries. I haven't seen an old pair like that for a long time. My Suite 2.8s were great - they do make nice loudspeakers.
A search on the characters involved in this indicates some degree of form for creating these situations. I feel very sorry for the founder in these circumstances. I'm sure he entered into things with...
You lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky... :D
Full report please. Soon as ;)
There are a lot of places offering 0% deals and I’ve seen them for £1099 inc stands. Might be worth considering...
I’ve been looking for a while now... the only pair I saw were ex-dem with stands for £899 from a dealer ‘oop north’, and they’d gone when I called. Rocking horse poo they are...
With those upgrades, I reckon you’re offering it to him at maybe 50-60% of its value open market. I’d expect to get maybe £450 for a deck like that? A bog standard P3 can fetch £250 easily. £350...
I think it's this Russell - a cheaper version of the Cartridge Man's Isolator. Interesting concept as it flies in the face of some conventional wisdom regarding coupling the cart to arm and letting...
Bought the ingredients for simple home brew (80:20 Distilled Water/IPA mix, dash of Ilfotol) for around £30 on the 'Bay. Will last forever (well the Ilfotol will!). Works fine.
I had an XLMIII. Sold it. Stupid, stupid boy...
Drop CliveG on here a line... you never know your luck!
Denon DRM-44HX. Good nick, nice condition, no marks. I think I even have instructions somewhere.
Still for sale - sensible offers around the £120 mark considered!
Bump for these lovely components - and a price reduction. £325 each for the Brio-R/Apollo-R, or £900 for all 3.
Not sure whether to breathe a sigh of relief or cry on hearing that!
Had one of the earlier 40s for a bit. Very impressed, stuck a pair of early B&W Matrix floor standers on it and it sounded very good indeed. Even the input from Spotify via my iPhone sounded fine....
I agree totally - anything that gets people into vinyl is good in my book, and though there may be better alternates out there in terms of 'Sound per Pound' the sheer convenience of being able to...
Resurrecting this thread as it's still for sale, sensible offers invited!
Now located in Glastonbury, Somerset.

Glad this is the case Gaz, and Rumours is a funny old one. I've three different pressings that all sound uniquely underwhelming. Considering it's a classic from the golden age of LPs, all the...
