I have just ordered surrounds for the bass units in my second pair of DM70's
...
People have bought the trough and paddle separately and then used them on decks such as the 401, so I am sure that the system could be used on at least some direct drive decks.

The Kingsdales sound quite different to the Dovedales.
For a start, the Kingsdales have a taught bass and seem to image well.
I bought a pair of Dovedales thinking that they would sound like...
Hi again
I hope that you managed to sell your speakers.
If not, you could always take a stall at the Audio Jumble if you have more to sell.
It is at Tonbridge on 17th Feb this year.
In the past I...
Hi Craig
I have a pair of Skyline 2000's that also need some TLC, but have a feeling that the 1000's may be easier to drive.
Now I have been offered some 1000's and would be interested to know...
I would have to agree with Tom (montesquieu) and say that the Art Audio amps are designed primarily for triode strapping.
Strangely enough, I even find the bass to be better in triode mode.
I...
I have a pair of these and must say that they sound great with a tube amp.
They are way better than my Dovedales.
It may be that the purple tweeter is a bit hot, so the slightest bit of harshness...
Then the only thing left is bracing and possibly wiring (nothing too fancy).
Did you change away from any electrolytic's that there may have been?
I seem to remember that the Ditton 15 tweeter...
The Ditton 15 is not exactly a reflex design, but used an auxiliary bass radiator (ABR) which is tuned to the box volume and bass/mid, so I agree that it is not a good idea to alter the box...
I think that the reason to choose different materials is that wool and fiberglass work on lower frequencies.
Depending on the speaker and box design the requirements can be different.
Wool is said...
I am thinking that there may not be one ideal damping material and that
one may just want to dampen the speaker walls, break up reflections, or dampen the box.
It may be that in some speakers...
It is good to have that illusion.
The truth is that the deeper a speaker goes, the harder it is to integrate into ones room.
It is also very hard to work out the difference between a room resonance...
I thought that I had better start my own thread
These speakers were bought by myself about 2 years ago.
They seemed in very good condition and I was told that the veneer had been done together...
I have a pair of Dali Skyline 2000 :eyebrows: that need a bit of TLC.
When driven correctly they produce some exquisite sounds.
The are an open baffle design with a 15 inch bass married to a...
Here are links to all the reference documents that I have so far.

Note that that this is my working area and there could be duplicates.

Thanks
That is what is claimed, but what I wanted to know was peoples experience with repaired or original DM70 panels.
I presume that you have the connector by now.
In the UK One Thing Audio repair the electrostatic units plus the electronics

Looking at the schematics that I have, there are 3 * 800 MEG ohm resistors in series.
Do you mean these?
There are some in the Radio Spares site, but they are not quite the correct shape.
This...
Who was the producer that used a wall of speakers including Leak Sandwich?
He used them all at the same time.
I have heard of "wall of sound" but . . . :D
I should have my moving date very soon.
I would say about 1 1/2 months.
The house has a great basement.
I did a basic test of the high frequency response on my panels and found that the cut off is around 10/ 11 kHz.
With a normal tweeter I can hear (just) to 16 kHz.
This may explain why symbols seem...
Did the speakers ever get finished?
I could be really interested.
Just now I am buying a new house, so I would need that to be completed first.
I live in Somerset so it is a bit of a jaunt.
Thanks you are right.
I was hoping to get some advice regarding my Conrad Johnson PV9a preamp.
Anyway it is working just fine, so I will play my LP's and sort out my B&W DM70's
