Hiya Lawrence.
Yes, it is, a Technics SL-10; I think you'd be surprised :)

given the lettering, are remton and xiang sheng related?
Not than I am aware of. Xiang Sheng are Chinese, Remton are Czech.
A poor picture, and the last one for a while, but more or less gives an idea of the “finished” system -

There is a matching speaker on the other side, and I have a 310MC cart incoming but then I’m done for a while.
Except for, this has now appeared -

Hello Mike,
I have no experience with Garrard TT but have read that the original plinth of 401 is 25 mm thick. Your's is massive one and quite good looking.
Is there any sound benefit in more thickness beside the good look?
BR,
ivo
Thank you Ivo,
Yes, apparently there is an audible benefit to a high mass plinth. This one is layered and keeps as much mass as possible in each layer.
It's a pretty heavy lump :)
Thanks Jake.
Decided it was time for a change :) I sold 2 of my SL-10's and an SL-7, but I did keep an SL-7, as they are just too good to not have one as a spare.
I didn't realise you had a thread here Mike. Really lovely deck. I'm a big fan of the AT33PTG, lovely fluid midrange with some body to it.
