I'm still off it... been a long time :D
I have struggled with my weight all my life, tried more diets than you can shake a stick at and basically had the same result, lose weight and then it just goes straight back on. I've now got the diagnosis that my metabolism is all to cock and will always struggle. My GP and the very kind consultant at the hospital are exploring the possibility of me having a gastric bypass now as it would be the only way to control my wayward innards.
What I was leading onto was my previous GP put me on Orlistat, which at the time was prescription only but you can now buy over the counter as XLS Medical. I followed the instructions to the letter and did lose some weight, however the side effects were horrendous, stomach cramp, nausea and needing to be close to a lavatory all the time. That was over 20 years ago and I still have problems caused by the drug.
As previous posts say you have to use more energy that you take in and re-educate your entire system to accept less input.
I'm sorry to hear that you might need a gastric bypass Ian, that sounds very nasty :(
That Orlistat sounds very bad...
Get those skinny jeans out Ian and be ready to squeeze into them :D
I will definitely not be trying Orlistat or any other drug, I'll just stick to SW and be much healthier for it...
Good luck with the gastric bypass if you go ahead with it, I'll be thinking of you... ;)
Anyway I've just bought a new amp so it's bread and water for the next month anyway lol
