i read on the wam that they already booked the show for 2018 at Scalford.

That may be the case, but my understanding is that they're looking for a better venue in future, in a more accessible location, with improved parking facilities and the removal of the (largely) unpopular park & ride system. Whether that happens in time for next year's show or not I guess is the question :)
Marco.
That has been rumoured before due to the severe constraints of the rooms, and the P&R has understandably not helped, but the overriding mood I have picked up is that Scalford is Scalford and shall stay at Scalford. At least for 2018 and we really don't need to worry or speculate beyond that. Especially given that this year's show was rated as the best yet by many I have spoken with/engaged with.
No worries. I'm happy for that to happen, if that's the case. It's got nothing to do with me.
I'm simply reporting what was suggested to me in a conversation with the main man. Like with many things, one's intentions don't always come to fruition :)
Marco.
Nothing to do with me either... though I think I might be able to pluck up the courage to exhibit next year and "put something back"!
I spoke to Peter ( Mr WW ) on the day of the show and he confirmed that he had already booked for 2018
Top Waming :D
He has and I think about 40 rooms have already been booked by exhibitors. There is no doubt that the intention is to be at Scalford in 2018 at least.
The change of ownership of wigwam has seen many changes I haven't liked much and the reason I joined here and don't post there much. Exhibitors booking rooms this early after the show is out of order imo, it leaves little chance for others to get the opportunity to exhibit nearer the time. That's their business of course but the reason I haven't been the last two years. Doesn't look likely we'll get a room next year anyway.
Is the change of ownership something you object to in principle, or is there something specific you can point to in the tenor of the forum which you don't like? Rhetorical question, as we don't want to get into other-forum-bashing. I'm a Wammer too, but if I ignore the trimmings (WamTV and the like), the forum feels very much like the forum has always felt.
I can't see any connection between the change of ownership and exhibitors booking 2018 rooms early. In fact, Wammers are an independent-minded bunch, so the reason so many are keen to book their 2018 slots might be that 2017 appears to have been received as one of the best yet (whether despite or because of the change of ownership, who's to know?).
I'm sure an AoS room would be welcomed, but this forum would need to get the commitment from enough folk to be able to make a booking with confidence. Which I think is the main point of this thread.
I can assure you that there are plenty of Wammers with their names down for 2018 who have exhibited many times before and would be more than happy to step aside to make room for others who have not - myself included. If you don't put your name down at all, then you're never going to get to exhibit!
