Records Storage

Anyone looking for simple but very strong record storage look no further than this guy. Ive ordered some, finger joints are very very strong, probably the strongest way to construct storage cubes, the prices are excellent value too.

Could admin make this sticky as customers would appreciate good storage @ good prices & i'd like to put buisness forward to this guy.

JCube Record Storage, he also makes CD storage & see no reason why he couldnt make up Tape & Reel To Reel case storage aswell, you'd have to enquire..

Well it's the first time ive seen cubes constructed using Finger Joints. The strongest method imho..

Marco: Nice LP stockpile there..Ive only been building my vinyl back up for about a year now, not many yet, ive managed to get together around 125, they are all brand new re-issues with exception to an handfull.. but boy have they cost me a lot of money for just that amount :( It's a lot harder collecting one type of music than various types.

Yup, but you'll soon get your collection back again. I know what you mean about expensive, though, as I've bought some of the prog re-ishews and they're not cheap...

Around 65% of the fuzzies shown in that pic are brand new, and would've cost around £15 a pop, so you can have a guess at the amount of moolah tied up in that lot!

Probably amounts to more than my system cost ;)

My cubes arrived today, the packing is very very good. Ive got quite a bit more storage i need for Records, Reel To Reels & Tapes & Hi-Fi mags. This guy will certainly be getting my custom.

Just bought a pair of Jamie's 'double' cubes from eBay. Looking forward to receiving them; I've been seriously short of record storage space for far too long.

Expect I shall be wanting more in the near distant future. :)

I built some shelves for my missus. It was only when I was finished that I noticed that they were very suitable as record shelves.

LPs fit rather well.

The whole thing is made from sheets of 6mm mdf and 12 mm mdf (for the columns), and 16 mm dowel. At the back are some panels to give it rigidity. They can be attached with panel pins (very small nails) or angle brackets.
The only 'exotic' equipment is a drill with a 16 mm drill bit.

The shelves simply lie on the dowel. The whole concept is blindingly simple and it is easy to make your own measurements. They are 65 mm deep which is deeper than necessary for records. But as mentioned I only thought about the possibility after the build. Also one could use attractive timber rather than mdf, but that will add to the cost.

I got some bespoke stuff made a few years back, but can see me doing more business with Jamie

Sadly I think JCube has ceased trading, web site not available.

He did advise he was having some issues, without any detail.

I had countless exchanges with him about my order, paid up front, £190.

Despite promise after promise he stopped communicating and I have gone elsewhere.

Bad experience to be truthful.

I use something similar by Schreiber, it does have one disadvantage however, it only works well when full.

These are fine if on a budget and you can always use the saving to buy a few more albums.

Contact trading standards about it, you might get your money back. Though if you paid by card (some offer refund facility) or paypal you can approach them re getting a refund.
