This system has been a joy to put together over the last few years - lots of bumps in the road but it has been quite rewarding. I started off exactly 40 years ago with my first sound system:

I found an old photo from around 1992 that shows my dad opening Christmas presents at my house in Toronto. He is seated next to a pair of Thiel CS3.5s. Very powerful bass but did not match well with early digital

A couple of years before that I had explored Magneplanars, with some 2.6Rs. Beautiful, but they need A LOT of current. My Classe Audio amp and preamp were well suited to them, but the 2.6Rs just needed another 200-300 watts!

Go on Peter, go for the Bill Evans...you know you NEED to....;)
(This month's jazz recommendation ... Alan Barnes and the David Newton Trio, 'Below Zero' on the Concord label)[/QUOTE]
Looking good Don, bet that full AN system sounds sublime mate
Thanks Lee. It has been sounding really good these days, but I have to confess that I felt like I could still get more out of the system. I ended up selling my TT-2 Deluxe to a local audiophile who had sent me an email a few months ago offering to buy it if I ever wanted to sell. I was visiting a friend of mine who owns a high end store in Vancouver and he showed me a demo model turntable that would normally be well above my budget, but he worked with me to sell a couple pieces of gear that I could live without to help fund the upgrade. So, now I no longer have a PS Audio P10 Power Plant or a few smaller items, but that made the difference and allowed me to buy my new turntable.
I bought a Vertere Acoustics SG-1 Record Player with some upgraded cables that the dealer had brought in as part of the demo model. The designer visited my friend's store and had a presentation over a day or two and put together the turntable that I bought at the store. You can see the video of the interview with Touraj Moghaddam at the store here:

I bought the bigger of the two turntables and I have been very pleased with the improvement that this turntable has brought. Here is a picture of it:
