SON IS GETTING THIS AMONG HIS PRESSIES THIS YEAR ON BLURAY...Hammer Horror Film: Twins of Evil 1971
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069427/
in a similar classic vein,on the drama channel they've been re running 70's classic tv series,i was too young to appreciate them at the time but ive really enjoyed watching 'when the boat comes in' and now im hooked on 'the duchess of duke street' lol next up i hoping for 'the house of elliot' .
The original was made in 2008. It's not a camp, fun film like the Hammer movies - it's genuinely quite disturbing (it's a French Canadian film).

Well, I watched the 'Horror Express' earlier, and it was excellent!
Ticked all the right boxes for me, for the purpose of this exercise: uncomplicated, straightforward plot, quite dark and moody overall (which I like), well-acted, got to the point quickly, and crucially, was accompanied by the all-important eerie 1970s sound effects! :)
Plus, it depicted old steam trains, and in particular, first-class rail travel from a time when it really was FIRST CLASS. I just love everything about those old carriages: the vintage decor, the individual 'booths', closed off for privacy, and the standards of service and food on board.
It simply makes me want to travel on the Orient Express even more, which Del and I will definitely do at some point soon. Venice - Simplon would be good. Or perhaps on the Eastern and Oriental!
Anyway, 'Horror Express' hit the spot nicely and comes highly recommended, for anyone who hasn't seen it.
Creepy factor 8.5
Tune in again folks, for tomorrow's spooky selection!
Marco.
Noted on that, Adam. What a fantastic looking poster, too (as was the other one you showed)! Just look at the vibrant colours and artwork. You just don't see that these days. I'll defo be checking out that film, along with 'The Ghoul', which I've also been looking at, so I may have a Peter Cushing double-bill tomorrow!
Marco.
Cheers for that, Mark. Yes I know what you mean, and it's something I would love normally (and indeed will seek out), but not for the purpose of this particular exercise, which is for films more along the lines of the Hammer movies, and what I've just enjoyed watching - and it *must* be from the 70s :)

There are a bunch of Dr Phibes movies :).
This isn't a horror movie as such but if you want a heavy psychedelic 60's movie I strongly recommend it:
