So it's got the box so no excuse. Surely oracle will have a solution - I'm waiting for their response but the auction finished tonight and my bid won. I guess worst case I buy a new motor unit.
As far as I'm aware, most Oracles had/have DC motors, so this is probably a simple matter of just changing a mains transformer. What model is it?
[QUOTE=farflungstar;905329]Ok so my bid was the winning bid and I'm now the proud owner (until it's shipped lol) of a mint condition Oracle Delphi mkiii.
I always wanted a Delphi - so this has been a long time coming. It's sooooo beautiful wth it's smokey green acrylic.
First problem is a step down transformer to 117v - next is the 60 to 50hz conversion - have emailed oracle so hopefully they will have a solution.
Any other suggestions from you guys regarding getting the best from this beautiful deck?[/QUOTE
OOOOH an Oracle!! Always been my ultimate TT Green with envy:respect:
Presume you are going to put your new Reed on it??
Pics required ASAP
It's the Model 3, and the Reed will be going on the SP10. Not sure what arm I'll buy for the oracle...
I have a new Jelco TK-850S coming shortly, to evaluate. Should be interesting because it’s much more solidly engineered where the Jelco 750 series arms are not!
Hmmm what model? I paid £680 MK 3.
Thank you.
I think it's a Mk2 but will check when I get it out of storage.
I bought it from the customer's Wife along with an unused ARC SP8, Krell KSA100 and Maggies. The Wife wasn't pleased when he took that lot home and it helped cause their divorce. He never had time to use any of it, so the Oracle is in it's box exactly as I sold it to him, still has the shrink wrap on the perspex.
The MK3 has some subtle improvements over the 2 - even so I would have had it and not had to worry about step down transformers and pulleys!
What happened to the Krell?
