2.2 petrol.
Wanted the 3.2 V6 (bigger must be better right?) but Chris Harris' comparison review 'back in the day' put the kibosh on that.
Driving experience..so much ' I need to slow the hell down ( and should I be this engaged?) to not worry about anything else!
Ah I see... What did CH have to see about its big bro? :)
Marco.
Too nose heavy (V6 2008 era GM lump not the original Alfa Busso engine) meant that Prodrive when tuning had to more than overcompensate for the heavy lump at the front.
2.2 was all good, the GM lump meant that Prodrive had to rework a lot of stuff, and not all to the benefit of the driving experience.
I have one of these Marco.

Sure is fancy Gary. Just don't get any tickets mate
Yeah, unless they're implemented correctly, bigger engines aren't necessarily better... There's a lot to be said for nimbleness, especially in terms of drivability :)
Just watch that some of the local 'undesirables' don't take an unwanted shine to it... It'd take a wee while for you to run down and catch them ;)

That's exactly the one I have Marco, and it's the main reason I didn't go for the V6.
Not mega performance compared to the 2.2, drinks like a fish and road tax is over £500!
Happy to say the car exceeded my expectations, feels really special to drive, and had a thumbs up from a 6 series Beemer driver at the traffic lights, not a bad thing? :)
A wee bit of fettling here and there to be done, for a 9 yr old car its better condition that you'd hope for, just a few cosmetic things to get it as 'brand new' as possible.
Nipped out for some milk last night when I got home...
