I was just wondering if changing from a Caiman II GFU to a Caiman SEG with super caps fitted was worth the outlay?
Has anybody been down this route that can comment on this?

The standard SEG already sounds more analogue compared to a modded MKII. The supercap upgrade is not really needed. It's just nice to have if you got a kind of system that would be able to show a difference. A 15V linear PSU produces a far bigger difference. And when my supercap PSU enhancer comes out either this month or the next, then the internal supercap mod will make even less of an impact. So my feeling is that the cost of having the supercap mod fitted should first be spent on getting a 15V linear PSU.
Thanks Stan.
I have a MCRU/LDA 15v Power supply.
I await with interest the release of the Supercap PSU enhancer.
From the feedback I have read, it sounds interesting.
The SEG should be on it’s way to me today, so I plan to have a little back to back listen at the weekend.
I have been using the original Lurcher PSU, which is the pre-production version of the one sold as the MCRU PSU, together with the PSU enhancer. It has given me some ideas with regards to an extra option in the SEG Firmware. Work in (slow) progress.
A question about the USB input, if I may?
Is there anything to be gained by adding an additional component between the USB ports of the PC and SEG? If I understand correctly, the SEG reclocks the USB signal, so the sound quality is already good.
Are the coax/Optical connections better than the USB?
Going down the route of SEG, supercaps, seperate 15v PSU and Dac mods.
