frugalhorn xl
any of you guys ever tried a frugalhorn ?
http://www.kjfaudio.com/product/frug...speaker-driver
had a pair here for a few months and they are tremendous fun . used with a supernait 2 . so clear and linear in sound with no need for subs or supertweeters . imaging is spot on . not the prettiest thing to behold but who cares for the price of around 500 quid for parts

You still got them Phil? I thought you’d moved on!

well sadly they are going back today . they have been in the listening room i made in the loft which is a very `live ` room . they just sound so real . playing monty aleaxnder or live music sounds very open and spacious and just very real. their intimacy and general sound has certainly been an eyeopener with single full range driver speakers which i have never had
might try something else for a while but i think they are going to have the upgraded drivers fitted for a while by the owner . then i may make some . or buy something . if anyone has any suggestions for modestly priced horns like these with single driver that would be good . not tannoys as i have the eatons leagacy coming in another room .
