lovely clear blue skies today, but currently only 2C. should warm up a fair bit tho.
Been nice and dry/sunny here all day, but rather nippy out of the sun!
Marco.
Amazingly it is supposed to be sunny on bank holiday Monday. Never thought I'd see the day.

Rain belting down and close to gale force winds, making it feel very unpleasant. Unfortunately, our beautiful Cherry trees full of blossom are being buffeted by the wind and losing all the blossom.
breezy and overcast today. 6c currently with a little sun forecast for pm
10C, gloomy grey sky and pouring rain. I think they've recycled January for us.
Rather pleasant day here in Wrexham, dry and mild, as long as you don't go out of the sun! :)
Just come back with my dad (treated him to lunch), from having a rather excellent eggs benedict with fresh salmon and streaky bacon [the poached eggs were done to perfection], washed down with a superb double espresso, at a newly opened (licensed) cafe in Wrexham, called Lot 11:

Shown above: sample of their pulled pork Eggs Benedict with chipotle hollandaise sauce, and latte.
Highly recommended, if anyone here is in the area, for top-notch breakfast/brunch and light lunches, plus superb home-baking and speciality teas/coffee. They also have a small, but well-chosen, beer and wine list
Marco.
cold and wet here. bloody miserable for may. freeze yir chooks aff
Lol - you need to jump in a train mate, and come down to warmer climes! :)
Marco.
your not wrong. amazing what 200 miles brings.
Yeah, remind away.... You can keep that pish! :D:nono:
Although when the time comes it could well be just as hot here...
Marco.
Blue sky, sunshine, 18 degrees and rising.
half that here and cloudy going on overcast. supposed to get a bit warmer
Cold and overcast here currently just nudging 6 degree, my missus has the central hearting on.
It's been a beautiful day here in the SE. Blue skies and 21C.
Going to be fine over the weekend and predicted to be 27C on Monday. Something must have gone wrong - this is not the usual Bank Holiday weather we have come to expect. :D
Light cloud and about 8 c. Breezy too
Not a cloud in the sky here in Wrexham - blue all the way... It's gonna be a scorcher! Looking forward to a Bank Holiday weekend of great weather, with lots of barbecues, cocktails and ice-cold Prosecco!!:cheers:
Marco.
No complaints here in the SE4 of London, beautifully warm, blue skies and bright glorious sunshine - yay !!! :)
Yup, just been out for a walk down to the local park, and it's scorchio! Currently 24°C, and I suspect could get warmer... Time for an ice-cream! :)
Marco.
Wall to wall sunshine and around 24 - 25 I guess. I have the Sangria on the go and will be firing up the BBQ in a couple of hours.
Gorgeous day here in North Oxfordshire, feeling pretty good, will treat the Mrs to a drink and ice cream as she's working overtime today.
up to 16c, and bits of sunshine occasionally
Supposedly will be the warmest May Day bank holiday since 1977.
Sunny here but out of the sunshine there is still a nip to the air.
Around 23 deg here with wall to wall sunshine. And about time too!
Hopefully tomorrow will as nice, as we're doing a car boot in the morning. Or rather Mrs. P will be selling our old crap while I mooch round buying new crap to replace it :)
No nip in the air here, mate.... It's pretty warm, still 24°C, with a nice cool breeze (my ideal kind of weather), unless you consider a nice cool breeze as "a nip in the air"?:)
Just outside in the garden enjoying the weather sipping an ice-cool glass of this stuff, from Ikea, which is most refreshing:

The pear one is particularly nice. Highly recommended to quench thirsts on hot days like this!
Marco.
Did you get some Swedish meatballs to go with them, or are you more of a hot dog man?
Lol... Both! Although last time we went shopping there I had a lovely piri-piri chicken in their restaurant. The beer they sell in their shop is also rather nice, as is the salmon Gravadlax, which is top quality:)
Marco.
lovely sunny morning.. 8c already and forecast to make 19c today. dizzy hot for here
It's already 17°C here - I reckon we're heading for high into the 20s later! And tomorrow will be similar, as forecast:)
Better look out your shorts and string vest, mate!:D
Marco.
23C here and rising. Blue sky and blazing sunshine, not a cloud to be seen. Otherwise it's OK. :D
Think I'll cut the grass.
clouded over a lot but still a heady 13c
In the low twenties already. I've got the doors open so I can sit in the garden while streaming tunes from The Mighty Diamonds and Augustus Pablo. Probably akin to playing Dido and the Prodigy together, but I don't care.
Something about warm sunshine and reggae, just works for me. :)
up to 17c but a cooling breeze makes it more pleasant .. mix of cloud and sun.. warm enough for me
We're up to 25°C now! Just finished setting the table and preparing the wines for lunch... It's my dad's 85th birthday on Tuesday, but he's flying out to Italy with some friends tomorrow, for a fortnight, so we're doing his birthday meal today :)
Starting off with a small portion of eggs Benedict, on crusty sour-dough toast, with fresh asparagus and smoked salmon, followed by some Gloucestershire 'Old Spot' pork chops, from our local butcher, which have been marinated in fresh garlic, lemon juice and rosemary, and which will then be simply barbecued and cooked to a nice colour.
Plenty of veg, as usual, because of Del being a veggie (and my dad and I also love veg). There's fresh spinach, cauliflower cheese, rosemary-roasted new potatoes, buttered baby carrots and celeriac mash.
Dessert will be a home-made fresh fruit salad, which has been marinating overnight in some Coeur de Comte orange liqueur, and that will be served inside some hewn-out fresh pineapples, accompanied by a rather nice Tokaji dessert wine (lightly chilled), and followed with double espressos.
Hopefully he should enjoy that!
Marco.
Well wish him a happy birthday from me Marco. :)
sounds great.. i do love fresh pineapple. got one of those gadgets for getting the flesh out and slicing. happy birthday auld yin :D
Cheers for the birthday wishes, guys! :)
He enjoyed his fruit salad yesterday (and everything else, too):

Del decided to add some mascarpone cream on top!
It's gonna be another scorcher today... Already 19°C
Marco.
22C here now. It was 20C at 8am, so it's definitely on the way up!
11c here similar to yesterday
Low 20s again here, but gardeners have turned up, so I'm indoors till they're done. Got Stanley Clarke playing, loud enough to overcome racket from mower and strimmer, then Mrs. P texts me from the bedroom, asking me to turn it down!
Life can be harsh :(
I lived in the suburbs once and the mowing used to drive me nuts. The neighbour must have had an obsession or had nothing better to do. Always mowing. Even his cat spent most of its time at my house or in my garden just to get away from it. After 3 months I couldn't take it any more and moved back to a house in the ghetto. That backed onto a factory with forklifts beeping all the time and lots of crashing and smashing, it was still less irritating than the mowing.
The temperature has now topped 27C (80F) and still rising. Should be at its hottest about 2pm. 30C maybe?
Are those your dad's hands Marco?
They look like they belong to someone who goes to work every day. Or do you just give him all the home tasks you find too tough :)
