Bargains on ebay? (Part 2)

eBay attracts much flack, a lot of it justified, as being a sellers market. But occasionally it can work out well for the buyer. As an example, someone has found a bargain:

These are seen for sale pretty infrequently, so pricing is tricky. 50% the value of a TD124 in similar condition would be my guess. The 135 is just as well made as the 124 as far as I know and has a similar drive assembly, but lacks the ability to (easily) use alternative arms and does not have the same desirability.

mmmm...I was just thinking about getting a bigger sub. That would probably just about do the job. Shame it's so far away.

There's a Td125 finishing in a few minutes that's at £50 just now. It'll need a damn good clean and oil but I bet other than that it's fine.

They're jumping on the LS3/5A 'bandwagon'. The Goodman's Maxim speakers were great little bookshelf speakers in their day, but were not designed to be heard near-field as the LS3/5A were. Not worth £650 IMO, maybe £150.

I've had a pair of them in the distant past and whilst they sound sweet and clean they are not a hi-fi speaker in any accepted 21st century sense and are definitely not an 'undiscovered classic'. I'd value a mint pair at twenty quid absolute tops.

Any Lenco/Goldring-Lenco light platter would do, and you could probably even use a heavy platter, though that could have an issue with arm height. Buy this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLDRING-L...item4625052519 and you have a bag of spares as well.
