Hahaha... That's a belter!
I think Caixinha's appointment has been unofficially 'rubber-stamped' for some time, and it's a bold move by Rangers bringing in a foreign coach with little real knowledge of the club or Scottish football, and just what it means to manage a club steeped in history, with a massive fan base, and where expectation levels are sky-high.
Will he be able to handle the huge pressure he'll be under, both on and off the park? We'll see... Let's hope he turns out to be more of a Dick Advocaat than a Paul Le Guen! ;) And I say "let's hope" because I *genuinely* mean it!
If Caixinha can turn Rangers into the team that they once were, and push Celtic all the way for honours every year, then it can only be good for Celtic, and for the status of the SPL - and crucially in terms of attracting the best possible players to Scotland.
My gut feeling is that this guy will be good, but he will need time to implement his 'infrastructure' into the club and his style of training and play, and so *must* be given that time by both the board and the fans, and if he gets it, I think Rangers will reap the rewards.
As for Sunday's game at Celtic Park, perhaps for the first time ever, Rangers go into an old firm match with almost no pressure on them whatsoever. Few will give them a chance, and they'll be desperate and highly motivated to end Celtic's winning run. That's why I think that Rangers can get something from the match tomorrow, but they'll need to play out of their skins and hope Celtic have an off day.

Hard one on Sunday, and I expect the incumbant will be in attendance. I think he is part of a parcel(wont go into that) whether he can handle it,, well he is inclined to get hett up so I kinda expect fireworks both on ond off field.
Back to the game, It could go anyway game wise but I expect to lose heavily again.
The new man may will do something next year if he gets funds, and I expect him to,(whether its enough is another matter) so could be a more interesting season next time.

Won't be in he country before the game and probably before the announcement of the new manager, so hopefully by the time we return on Sunday night , we won't be on the receiving end of a hiding

Pedro has signed a 3 year contract with Rangers and becomes manager. Grahame Murty will lead team on Sunday(no new manager wants to start his career with that on the slate) pedro starts work on Monday. He apparently paid the escape fee himself to clear the way for this job. Shows the right level of commitment

Celtic 1 Rangers 1
The master predictor gets it right again ;)
You must be pretty pleased with the draw, guys - old Clinty, too :)

Wasnt a great game, but think murty deserved something for his efforts getting some sort of order out of that shower. Lol. Waghorn again missed a sitter for 1-0. He has to go, along with a few others(quite a few actually). Thought overall Celtic were probably best side, although they didnt play their A game, although Rangers may have had a hand in that to a degree. We shall see what new man makes of them.
-
Yeah, overall Rangers deserved a point. It was their best performance against Celtic so far, by a country mile, and they showed some real spirit on a day when Celtic weren't anywhere near at their best.
In Old Firm games, it's usually the case that the team who either need to or want to win the game the most, do so, or get a well-earned point, and so it was to be in this game. All the talk before the match (in the idiotic media) was about how many Celtic were going to score, and so the Rangers players used that to their advantage and had a point to prove, which is why I predicted they'd get something from the match.
The Rangers equaliser, however, came from a free kick that never was, and Celtic had a stonewall penalty denied right at the very end, where Clint Hill clearly fouled Lee Griffiths, but hey such is football...
The key now for Rangers will be seeing if they can build on this good performance and stop losing silly points against the other teams in the league, many of which come from the bottom half of the table - and of course what kind of input the new manager is going to have now on their results and performances.
The goal for Rangers will be to try and win the cup, and stop Celtic's treble, or at the very least ensure qualification for the Europa League next season. The cup game now, therefore, is going to be a *massive* one! :)

Sure, it could have been different a few times, and thats just way a game probably should be. Gets interest going rather than apathy. Thought it was probably a pen but there was a bit of both going too and think ref needed to be bloody sure to give anyone a pen in last minute at 1-1. Dont blame him fir ignoring it.. i probably would have too
-
Yes, but let's hope that doesn't happen at Hampden, in the forthcoming cup game, where the outcome of such 'ignoring' could be rather different! ;)
