You should disable the volume on Moode, mate, (by setting it to zero) and have it set automatically on Alsamixer at 86/87, as that's what sounds best.
If it was set at 100 on mine, the sound would be WAY too loud, continually saturating into distortion, so I don't know how you're getting away with that, unless you have a very low-gain preamp...
Marco.
Was told you dont do that with this version marco. Used to have it set that way... sounds fine full up now when b4 it would distort
In fact alsa doesnt work on this version unless you have a hardware controller

Ok, I was partly wrong because I haven't been using the Rpi for a while, but I've just checked what's right...
With the current version of Moode, you still want the hardware disabled, so that the volume control on the screen defaults to zero (not 100), as you currently have it, *but* set it at 96 in the Alsa Volume (%) section, under System Configuration.
So, to get there, you click on the Settings menu at the top R/H of the screen, choose 'Configure', then 'System', which will access the page I've just described above, and allow you to dial-in a setting of 96. Then save that setting.
Then disable your hardware (and switch off EVERYTHING else that isn't needed, such as all the Services and Maintenance stuff, within the System Config Section), and that should sound better than how you have things set just now. Try it and let me know :)
Marco.
Hardware is off as i dont have one. Its on software.. can try it at 96 possibly. Dunno. Not tried it on 2.7 could on 2.6.. give it a bash tho:)
Alsa as such is blacked out and doesnt work on software.. i set the alarm to 96 and updated. The max that can be dialed in now is 96, but alsa is still blank.
Yup, I'm not talking about the old version of alsamixer, where you used to see all the various coloured graphs, etc.
However, if you're using the latest version of Moode, you should be able to proceed as I've outlined in my last post, and once into the System Configuration Section, you will see a box, under 'Audio' which says 'ALSA Volume %', under 'I2S Audio Device'.
In that box, manually type in 96, and click on SET. That's what I'm trying to get you to do, so that the volume is set at 96 'internally', but on your screen, which you posted shots of earlier, the dial remains set at the zero position (instead of 100 as it currently is now) :)
Marco.
I cannot type in that box. It just stays blank.. i think it is only used now for hardware, but could be wrong. The max % box can be changed to 96 from its current at top
