Not my house. It doesn't have air con but if you walked into the living room on a warm summer day you'd be mistaken for thinking it did. I actually have the heating on during most of the summer otherwise it just gets too cold. Perhaps we should swap? ;)Quote:

As for the bit I've highlighted, how do you cope in the winter, with the same cold room, but MUCH lower temperatures? If the room's so cold in the summer, it must be absolutely freezing in the winter, one would imagine even with your heating system on full blast?
Our lounge has a tiled floor and a large centre rug, so quite cool in that respect, but the only way I can cope in the height of summer, is to close all the curtains, to keep the sun out, wear next to nothing, and have an electric fan blowing cold air at me all day - and most of the time at night I have to sleep on the sofa downstairs, as the upstairs bedrooms are like an oven!
In the winter, the lounge is lovely and toasty, because of the wood burner, and we also have central heating. The key thing for me is that I like to choose how warm *I* want to feel, not for it to be forced upon me by the weather, and that can only be achieved outside of the summer months, which is why I'm generally more comfortable then :)

Only the curtains on the back window stay closed, on the front they are always open. Irrelevant really since the house is very carefully positioned so that it does not catch the sun at any time of day. I think this is why it stays so cool in the summer.Quote:

Yes, not to bad at all, must get me togs on and go for a cycle around regents park or somewhere. Mind you every time I pop me head out of the door it seems cold,
despite what the temperature gauge suggests !. You might be right Geoff about the Bp tabs making one feel colder in winter.
No worries, I stand corrected. The combo of the latter and closing the curtains on the back window does make it rather dark in your house, though. But obviously that doesn't bother you, so cool :)Quote:

Don't like it too warm, but I couldn't stand living in a freezing cold house, and certainly haven't been used to it. For me, any money I had would always be spent first on ensuring that I lived in a comfortable environment, before it would on any other 'luxuries'...
