Turntable
Dear friends,
I was never a big fan of turntablea but my wife has some discs and wanted to play them and start maybe collecting the albuns we like the most.
So, I thought about going for a used turntable and a phono stage.
What should I consider?

it depends on your budget. What amplifier do you have now?

Technics 1210 and a intergrated amp with a mm phono stage

I have and audiolab 8000. One of the latest. My budget really depends... I really don't know what would suit my needs.

Maybe a Rega Planar 1 and a phono Mini A2D ?If you want a better sound, you have the Planar 2 and 3. The 3 is just great, but wonder if you want to spend so much...You have also the Pro Ject turntable, and second hand the Thorens, Dual, Lenco´s...

I think Rega now do a version with the phono stage built in, as do Pro-ject. if you're not into vinyl, you can't really go wrong here and you'd have a warranty if needed and hopefully, dealer support. I've heard stories about non UK dealers being a bit iffy with service if its needed though, so choose your supplier carefully.

I picked up a decent Pioneer PL-12D pretty cheaply about a year ago, partly from nostalgia and for something to play with. You know what? It makes music! It's a very cheap way of playing records decently enough, ideal for somebody who just wants to spin the occasional LP. And they just go on forever with no issues, just a new belt every few years and a drop of oil now and then. :)
