Hi Guys!

I'm trying to get rid of as much of the internal wiring in the 1210. I never ever use the pitch control so I want to get rid of it!! I've got rid of the strobe light because I have an external power supply and a mike new platter so it's pretty pointless. So, do any of you have any ideas of how to get rid of it. My ultimate goal is to refill the holes in the platter and then respray metallic black!!

Rexton

Have a look through this thread http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6087&highlight=hamish , I'm sure it's covered somewhere in it.

If you can't find it, the info is on www.12x0.de somewhere...
From memory you just unplug it and connect the left and right pins on the socket for the pitch control on the main board together... It's very simple, but I'm not sure if that exactly right ... I'd find it on 12x0 for you my self but I'm tired and have flu and it's mostly in german :)

Seulement quand je dois.
Bien sûr, je trouve plus utile d'utiliser Google Translate.

something about a sense of humor bypass?
unfortunately one of the symptoms of "german flu" is that it further inhibits understanding of german ... its also quite catching and it seems to have spread to this translator

Ach, auf Hamish kommen, ich weiß es ist beschissen mit Grippe, aber es ist lookking wie Sie einen Sinn für Humor gehabt haben Bypass auch.

The Google translation of the English to German translation I initially performed with Google translate has suffered from Chinese whispers, and now reads.......

Oh, come on Hamish, I know it sucks with the flu, but it's king look like you have had a sense of humor bypass it.

Now if I translate again to German it becomes......

Oh, Hamish kommen, ich weiß es saugt mit der Grippe, aber es ist König aussehen wie Sie einen Sinn für Humor gehabt haben Bypass es.

The thing is taking on a life of its own, all controlled by the "close but no cigar" world of Google translate.

You can always rely on AOS threads to spiral in to nonsense

Sorry about that , it was there now its gone .

Picture was of a 1210 with a blanking plate over the pitch control , looked good

Take a look through the techie gallery , Tolstoi's 1210 with Jelco 750 arm.

I've just had a look at the picture over on VE - looks a bit half finished to me.

If Tolstoi is prepared to lose all the silk screened Technics script he could have the TT chassis powder coated or spray painted and make the join invisible.

Edit...

Just been looking at the piccies again - it should be possible to match the cover to the top plate to give the best of both worlds.
