Hi
Recently bought a new telly which has on optical out which I would like to connect to my Dac, the problem being that the optical in on the Caiman is in use.
How would I connect ?, some kind of splitter or converter perhaps ?.
Regards
Jim

Two possible solutions (I use both in different situations)

Under the TV, I have PS3 out and Sky HD out, and use a doubler (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOSlink-Optical-Audio-Digital-Coupler-Connector-Joiner-/330378269248?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item4cec145240#ht_932wt_905) and just manually swap the cables over in a more convenient position (i.e. there are two cables out, and one cable in, and I just swap as needed.

At the other end of the main input cable, I use a switch (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-WAY-DIGITAL-OPTICAL-TOSLINK-SWITCH-SELECTOR-SPLITTER-/260450230252?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3ca40b1fec#ht_3508wt_1139) - again, perfectly adequate for AV in my experience. Don't forget you will need one more cable than you think you will! (And the switch is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture!)

Hi
Many thanks, that looks just the job, and I would have had 1 cable too few if you hadn't reminded me.

You may also be able to replace the USB port with another optical port - not sure if Stan can supply the parts to retrofit this...

Hi Alex!
Thanks for the link I'll get this switch. Thats the thing I was looking for my Caiman :) I suppose no power required for this switch. And how big it is in real life? Will it fit on CD cover?
