Didn't dare put this under Audio Visual.:)

Need to replace my ageing bedroom VCR. Don't have a Freeview box upstairs so it seemed logical to buy one of these Hard disk things.
Trawling though the reviews on the net, reveals that most of the cheapie boxes are crap in one way or another.
Since i'm too tight to waste money on something that i will hardly use, (its mainly for the wife), has anyone found an inexpensive one that actually does what its supposed to?
Inexpensive means..... as cheap as possible.

Mmm, I didn't even know that freeview recorders existed, I can't think they'll be any good though.

How about a DVD recorder with a built in hard disc and a tuner?

Yes they are good Shane, but they are at the price point where most of these boxes are good.
I was sort of hoping someone might have taken a chance on buying a real cheapie and found it to be ok.
Maybe this is one area where you have to part with the cash.
