Hi all.

I'm looking to move my Dvd/bd player to near my hifi so I can enjoy sound through my speakers.

Thing is, I'd probably need a cable around 6 or 7 meters long.

So is this okay to do? Or will there be sync problems?

Thanks

Why not leave your DVD player and or any other av sources close to the tv, then run an optical from the TV if it has one, covering all sources, or alternatively one from the DVD player...

I'd suggest that optical cable would be best (and more cost efficient) for that distance.

Get a nice 10 metre optical in white on amazon. Got one in my basket myself in case I move things myself

Thanks guys.. Very helpful. Never thought of optical.

I'm going to look on my Telly today to see if it has an Optical port. It's quite old... in fact I bought it in 2006... LOL Still going strong.

If not I thought of maybe one of these?

Which converts the Coax signal to optical. This would only be useful from my DVD player, and so no including the TV.

So... is it better to take the audio from HDMI? That way it would be the same as what Will said.

One of these?

Just bought an audio extractor. It was the Neet one on amazon. Not the cheapest but it is very good quality. Sound is awesome

How does the sound your getting with the extractor Grant compare to the Oppos coaxial out into your Dac?

Personally I think it's better with wider, deeper soundstage gary

Result!

I run a toslink into my MDAC from my TV, so now DVB, Smart apps, Sky Q, Blue Ray, HDD are all available through my main stereo via one cable...

P.S. I used to run several HDMIs and toslinks into an AV player at 5.1, now I prefer just stereo via my main DAC/system
