Latest ebony armboard for a 'The Wand' tonearm.

As you can see with a spindle to pivot distance of 241mm, this one fits an SL-1210 just.

Set up with threaded inserts for mounting from underneath.

Will be off to New Zealand soon (where The Wand tonearm comes from).

This thick solid ebony armboard will be replacing the thin metal plate ;)

Just started a copper case for an Audio Note Step Up Transformer.

I'm retaining the front and rear panels that show all the settings and what plug goes where.

This will be a totally enclosed copper case with turned ebony feet and my copper phono sockets.

More to follow..

Thought i’d give something back to the forum by adding to Steve’s post. (I always lurk in the back getting all the latest info!)

I’m the guy who decided to replace the metal arm board for his The Wand Plus tonearm on a Technics with one of Steve’s African ebony arm boards.

Thanks to Simon at Design Build and Listen (the makers of The Wand tonearm) who provided me with a smaller diameter top clamp. This allowed me to use the magna arm board, as space for a 10.3 inch arm is really tight!

Big thanks to Steve who replied promptly to about 68 emails.

Being the first guy to get one of Steve’s arm boards I had to rely on my own measuring to make sure the arm fitted. It’s worked out pretty well.

The attached pictures show the arm with the old metal arm board, then a series of shots with the arm board installed.

It sounds lovely. (I knew this already as I have a similar arm board on my Technics/Jelco combination.)

If you’re thinking about an upgrade to your Technics then one of Steve’s arm boards is worth doing.

Just squeezes on the SL-1210.
Lots of measurements were needed and a little extra widening, but we got there.

That is a beautiful arm. I'd love to hear it! You are a bit too far away to pop round though :)
