Hi all,

There is an attempt being made by John G over on AudioTalk to try and put a phonostage bakeoff together. This one is a friendly affair, designed to just get together and share our experiences and opinions of what we hear. It's not a competition. If you are interested in throwing a piece of kit into the mix, here's the link

http://www.audio-talk.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6961&start=30

It's hoped to be held at Houghton Village Hall and looks like there will be some facilities and refreshments available.

I've offered to take the Jolida JD9 or I'll send it if I'm working. Join in if you can. They are excellent for expanding your knowledge and experience. You may even hear your next upgrade there!

Oliver.

That's a shame, would have been good. Could have tried your Lyra Delos too!

Hi Oliver, is the gathering for vinyl fans only?
Would like to attend one someday but feel there won't be much I can contribute if its mostly vinyl.

It's a phonostage bakeoff, Taz, so yes, entirely vinyl. That shouldn't put you off though, if there's space, you are welcome to attend anyway.

Why not make some inquiries on here and for a possible venue and organise one yourself Sandro?

yes that is exactly what I like to do depending on things and how many came up (already did :D no?)

One place I know off as a venue (decent food and hope not so upset neighbours ;))

But if many came up I can ask my local Hi Fi shop to help they do similar thing often

Plenty of love for the firebottle here its a great bit of kit. I've really enjoyed mine but unfortunately it sold
last week which is why im interested in a local bake off. Where & when are you thinking of holding it ?

Bring it closer to the Midlands area, Crewe or somewhere similar. Can get a few good phonostages together.

2154321544Sorry do not want to hi jack this tread just having my own little bake off.

4 phono stages (should say 3 and 1/2 )

Rothwell signature 2
Sugden Masterclass
Sallas Cascode my on current
and half a Paradise R3 need to finish off the other buffer tomorrow

I must say first impression the Signature 2 is my faw A bit more punch than the Sugden
But they are both really good
I am not going to comment on the Sallas and Paradise at this point

Zoidburg you have PM

Im just north of Liverpool, and would love to attend.

I have an audio innovations phono stage , which im trying to sell, but if you felt it appropriate, and it would be an interesting listen, I can bring it. No hard sell, honest.

Id be really interested in a little Liverpool based phono stage get together as well.

I've had a chat to Sandro but work commitments mean its in on the cards this week, maybe if we set a date for a couple of weeks time the 3 of us could all ensure we can make it.

Thinking of arranging a bake-of at my gaff, assuming Saturday would be the best day, how about 24th Nov, 1st Dec or 8th Dec?

Say 6-8 maximum, MC phono stages and speakers.

Any interest? :)

You resisted the lure of an SL1200. I reckon you could do the same with an SP10, although it may be a tad harder.
