i know this is the 3rd thread i have started about this but things have progressed and it looks like we have a plan

i spoke to my mate who is good with wood and he thinks something like this would be easy enough to achive
i also know a lady who will do me a good price on some granite cut to shape

ignor the colours!

Two things that spring to mind.

Firstly, they appear to be very closed in; almost a cupboard without doors. I was always led to believe that open is better. Might be wrong though.

Secondly, the rectangle shape may not have sufficient rigidity, unless there is some hidden strengthening at the corners. I can envisage it folding flat under the weight, or at least having some movement. Depends on the MDF thickness i suppose.
