Guys

If you had the option which one of these int. amplifiers would you consider buying personally yourself, Kenwood LA-1 or Accuphase E306 ?

Vintage is taking a hold !

Depends on price i guess. Not sure what the 306 goes for but at a guess its less than the big kenny, which is a bonny beast.

If the 306 has meters then there's no competition. Seriously I love the accuphase sound I had a 405 I think.

grant thanks i have been offered the kenwood at a good price , the accuphase will probably set me back circa 1400 inc shipping from Japan - Accuphase i've heard the Kenwood not so.

I want to get away from the infliction of hoarding boxes !

Strickly all you need is 1 great amp and a lesser backup, but we all know that often doesnt happen. Ive got 8 now, having sold one recently. 4 are the same, and 1 of them is faulty. other 4 are vintage. kinda insane but its fun and doesnt have to cost too much really unless you go for things like these 2, which are way out of my league now. Sure you will enjoy both but if the Kenny is about same price I'd get it if in nice nick......condition is all.

If you're considering importing vintage Accuphase from Japan, you might want to consider that early Accuphase models have a voltage selector switch on the rear so can run at 240v without a transformer.

The Sony is running like clockwork. I'm really delighted with it. :)

Looks like you're putting together a very nice system! Both of these amps float my boat. I'd have trouble choosing between them myself but given that I have a Kenwood Model 500 amp, I would opt for the Accuphase.

I have the Accuphase E-302 and although there is no voltage selector on the back, the transformer primary tappings are just behind the back panel.
