Apparently the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra record label is to release some LP recordings of Brahms symphonies conducted by Sir Simon Rattle in November.

The LPs were seemingly mastered direct to disc - a technique which has only occasionally been used in the past. It would be interesting to hear how good they sound.
Anyone interested can report back - though I probably won't be buying them.

Hi Dave,

Interesting stuff! Got a link to any info on this, or where did you hear about it? :)

Marco.

The one person I know who bought these sent them back for a refund.... surface noise was terrible. And he wasn't massively impressed with the performances either.
